Thanksgiving

Pastor Kim (a Korean missionary in Tree City)

  • Pastor Kim contracted coronavirus in early September, and his condition has improved. He was discharged from the hospital in mid-September. He will return to South Korea for a period of rest. Thank you, Brothers and Sisters, for your prayer

Samson & Ava (the couple who run the House of Hope in Olive City)

  • Ava’s father contracted coronavirus in early September. The hospital did not accept him. He could only stay at home. Later, his condition has become better and better. For Ava’s family, this is a miracle. Thank you, Brothers and Sisters, for your prayers.

Ministry

  • Giles and his disciple (Chris)  have had to re-arrange the trip to Q city. Pray for the safety on their trip, for their cooperation with Mr. Johnson with joy, and for the peace for the brothers and sisters who are hosting them.
  • Pray for the students they are serving, and that they will continue to conduct Bible studies every day.

  • Pray for their whole family to have a good relationship with God, for their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
  • Pray for their elder daughter’s registration in kindergarten: may God give her the school and the teacher most suitable for her.
  • Pray for Lewis’ parents to be healthy! And to be more obedient to God.

Ministry

  • Pray God supply all ministry expense needs, and pray their local coworkers will live more abundant lives.
  • Pray the Lord will reign in their local pandemic situation and people will be humble and submit to Him.
  • Pray for their changing work situation and visas – pray God shows them special favor and everything goes smoothly.

  • Jeremy had a safe trip back to Korea at the beginning of August and has finished his quarantine there; thank God he can spend some time with his family!
  • Pray that Iris’s September three-week practicum goes smoothly, and that she can obtain her children’s teaching certificate. As the three weeks will be full-time, Jeremy will be taking care of the children; pray for him to have the ability and wisdom he needs for this.
  • At present they are waiting for their long-term Water City visas to be issued. Pray for the whole family’s smooth return to Water City.

  • Their daughter Esther has started school. Pray for God’s help in arranging pickup and drop-off and time management.
  • Pray that Peter can master the local language and pass the international Chinese exam at the end of this month.
  • Pray for wisdom for him to be a leader that conforms to God’s will. The team has co-workers with different cultural backgrounds and languages.​​ May they be united in heart to advance the kingdom of God.

Ministry

  • Nexus Center needs coworkers for different departments, preferably brothers who can drive.
  • The woodworking room needs a male teenager coworker. May God prepare and bless the coworkers.
  • The Ministry of Education needs a good professional teacher with a loving and gentle heart to teach students. May God prepare co-workers for us according to his time.

  • Sonya will leave Tree City at the end of September and return to her hometown in the United States. Pray for her return journey to be smooth and safe, and that God blesses her way ahead.

  • Pray for the Center’s September opening. Pray the Lord give them wisdom, protection, and a good beginning this year.
  • Pray they can more effectively communicate the Word of God with their Center’s children.
  • Pray for a lady named Nermin. She has been working as a coworker from the beginning of the Center. She had been married for eight years; but because a gunman once got into their house, beat her husband, took him away, and didn’t let him go for four days, Nermin was always very fearful and couldn’t conceive a child. But now she is pregnant; pray the Lord heal her in heart and body.
  • Pray for their female coworker named Elissar. She’s a counselor for the children in the Center. Her father, a doctor, recently passed away due to the coronavirus; and as a result she was very discouraged and has been complaining a lot against God. Pray she can understand God’s will.
  • Pray for the families who received food packages. Many women continue to come to Ava to ask for food packages for their children, and pray that House of Hope has the ability to help these women.

  • Pray for Duke’s parents and Sandy’s parents in China, for God to keep them safe, healthy, and happy.

Ministry

  • Pray for their church, that the brothers and sisters in the church will grow in the Lord this year, and that Duke and Sandy will have a father and mother’s hearts to help them grow.
  • Pray for the church finances, that brothers and sisters can experience the faith of the Lord.
  • Pray for protection from spread of the virus in their meetings, that the brothers and sisters won’t get infected.

Southeast Asia – Chili City

  • Nancy’s gums have been swollen recently and the gums bleed easily after eating. Pray for healing.
  • Pray for Zane’s knees and heart will be normal, and for him to sleep well.
  • Nancy’s Mother-in-law got a fracture in her left wrist. Pray for her to get better soon, and that the function of her five fingers can be restored.
  • Pray for Nancy to adapt to local life and learn the local language.

Ministry

  • Lately they have been watched, and often people with ‘bad attitudes’ have been coming to the door to visit. They have been feeling a lot of pressure. Pray the Lord protects their ministry and gives them peace in their hearts. Pray for the recognition of the government, local villagers and parents for their service.
  • Pray for the kindergarten children to have teachable hearts and to grow in the Lord. Pray for the unity of the team to serve the children. Pray for the peace of the co-workers.
  • It is a busy farming season, pray for the brothers and sisters will still be able to come to the fellowship meeting as usual.
  • Pray for them have wisdom to lead and help brothers and sisters with uremia.

  • Continue to pray for Chaw Chaw’s cataract surgery arrangements and for the Lord’s protection. The hospital requires the operation be arranged after the epidemic stops. During this waiting time, pray for the peace of mind and for her vision not to deteriorate.
  • Continue to pray for Sister Winnie, she has osteoporosis. Her cartilage is completely worn out, and she can only walk within 100 meters.  In the name of the Lord, bless her good health and pray that she can walk without too much difficulty.

Ministry

  • This year the school has started the process to get Coconut City ID cards for their Lychee City students. Please pray for the customs port at the border of Lychee City and Coconut City, that their children can come across and get their Coconut City paperwork done as soon as possible.
  • The pandemic situation in Lychee City is very serious. Please pray that their children can soon return to school in Coconut City(which they cannot do yet because the pandemic has not subsided).
  • It has been raining continuously for more than two months in Coconut City. There have been many floods, and even the entrance of their Grace Center is almost flooded. Pray for God’s protection for this place from flooding and rain.

Brother Tai and Xiao Ling

Personal & Family

  • We are grateful that the third daughter has been given the name “Grace” two months after she was born. The daughter is very healthy; ask God to protect her growth. Pray that Xiao Ling is blessed and has strength from God to take care the three children.
  • From mid-September, Brother Tai has been temporarily unable to travel; pray for peace from God while he is waiting and that God opens the way for him and protects his health.
  • In August, Brother Tai went to visit the refugees in the mountains in Lychee City. On the return trip, it took two and a half days to walk more than 100 kilometers back to the border, due to safety reasons.

Banana City Ministry

  • In September, due to the increase in the number of new coronavirus infections, the city was closed again. Brother Tai could not enter. Pray for this land and that God stops the epidemic.
  • We give thanks to God that the wild honey for the charity bazaar has sold out. Those funds can support the reconstruction of houses that collapsed due to the storm. Thank you, Brothers and Sisters, for your support.  Pray for the brothers and sisters in Banana City that God bless them with stable homes and they can continue to serve the Lord.

Lychee City Ministry

  • We give thanks to God that Brother Tai returned home safely from a trip in August. This trip, he went to the mountain to visit and deliver food. On the return trip, officials in his hometown came and questioned him and followed him. Pray for his safety in the ministry and ability to continue.
  • Many residents of Lychee City have illegally crossed the Chinese border for treatment for the coronavirus . Therefore, the border guards have stepped up patrols to stop them.  So Brother Tai is now unable to go to the mountain to distribute food, supplies, etc. Pray for the Lord to take care of the refugees on the mountain and keep them in peace through this situation.

  • Because of the epidemic, Brother Yuen has not been able to go to the ministry field. Now he works on a pig farm, which has become his service platform. Pray for him to be able to return to Banana City to serve as soon as possible.
