Rebirth and revive “New Levant “and “New Olive City.”

Another Face…Another World…God’s Call…Rebuilding “Levant—Olive City.”
Suzanna is a young lady from Olive City who was forced to leave her house, her dreams, her country, and everything she once had. After five long years, she was finally able to visit her hometown and see first-hand all that the war had destroyed. At the end of her difficult and distressing journey to her hometown, she found she couldn’t even say to herself, “I’m home!” because everything had changed. The roads had become dangerous and difficult; the ways she had known were now unrecognizable, not to mention the checkpoints and foreigners now stationed along them. Most buildings were now empty…destroyed and unusable. To her they seemed forlorn, burned up by the war, along with her fond memories. Even worse, a pall of death now seemed to hang over what once were the happy, lively faces she had known, faces that now betrayed anger and anxiety. She came to a somber realization: “The Olive City I knew so well is dead and gone! It will never again be the way it was!”

But after she had mused on these things for some days, suddenly she realized there were children playing in the street…there were people laughing as they went about their daily lives…the street markets were open…the city was coming alive again! People were living here! There was hope for the future of Olive City!
Suzanna visited some families to find out how they had survived that horrible war. They said, “We had no chance to escape. We had hoped the war would end soon, but as the days went by we felt more and more unsafe until we got to the point we didn’t even care anymore. We felt too discouraged even to accept the reality of what was happening in the war, and we felt completely abandoned. Our menfolk’s involvement in the war made it even worse.” Broken and wounded hearts need to be healed! (God’s presence is needed!)

We can all easily see how much the people of Olive City need God’s love to bring light into their darkness. And in fact God has already prepared their hearts: churches have opened their doors and welcomed those in need, and people have become more open-minded: they agree to send their children to church, and the church knows how to receive them with open hearts and help them. A Great Awakening has begun!
“Kurd City” is a miniature of the future of Olive City in the Levant. Arabs and Kurds live together, defending their borders, uniting to face the brutal enemy, Death. In order to survive they’ve had to overcome their hatred for one another.
However, their desire for revenge has bound them to a false belief—they think that money and power are the only things that can guarantee their safety! Despite this, they were touched by the power of Suzanna’s joy and peace. She gave glory to God, and they knew she had become a Christian.

Harvest Time has arrived! We must prepare workers; we must train them and help them to answer God’s call: To pursue the rebirth of “New Levant, New Olive City” according to His plan!

Levant—Tree City: Hair Salon run by Olive City’s Nina
Nina is the wife of Brother Jake, one of the Center’s coworkers. She opened a hair salon just next to the Center. Winters in the valley are extremely cold, and it snows sometimes. People wear hats and wrap their heads in a scarf to keep warm. Few people want haircuts, and the salon’s business is very slow. Even though the Center gave out coupons for free haircuts to refugees, it still became very difficult to keep the business going. Nina has decided to close the business and try to make a living some other way.
Brother Jake first came to know the Lord in the Center, then later became a coworker there. When Nina saw the change in her husband and felt the warmth and love in the Center, she felt drawn, and she started coming with her husband and their five-year-old son to meetings and activities. She used to have lower back pain, but the Lord healed her. With just this little bit of experience of the Lord’s presence, she began to open her heart, bit by bit, and started reading God’s Word.
After praying about Nina’s situation, the Center decided to help her, at the same time using her hairdresser’s salon as a ministry platform. They began giving free haircuts to seniors and had Nina train some of the refugee young people so they’ll have a skill they can use to support themselves and their families after the war is over and they return home. Also, through the training situation these young people can come to know God’s love and power (through discipleship training).
The hair salon was remodeled and new fixtures were purchased. May God use Nina and the hair salon so that many people are blessed through it. Please pray for the rent and operating costs of the salon, as well as the ministry and future plans there!

Rebirthing “New Levant” and “New Olive City”
The Old Testament book of Nehemiah records of revival. The word revival is the combination of re- meaning again, and –vival meaning life. Revival means a return to the condition of being alive. Revival happens when God’s people see how low their spiritual lives have fallen, and they turn and seek Him. It is also the result of God’s arrival on the scene, which transforms the low spiritual state of God’s people to a high, lively state. It is a process that transforms them from a critically needy condition (almost dead!) to one full of life and love.
To rebirth “New Levant” and “New Olive City,” we are seeking the help that only God can provide! We’re asking for His revelation, His Word, His wisdom, and His provision of every kind to bring a revival to this place. As we take courage and move forward with the power, resources, and instructions that He has put in every one of us, using the heavenly as well as earthly authority He has granted us, bravely standing in the gap, stopping up the breaches, building up lives—we can usher in His revival!

Rebirthing Levant—Olive City
Bringing revival through training skills, teaching, and disciplining: You can adopt one ‘little child disciple’ who, due to his or her family’s poverty, has had to go to work and has lost the chance to get a proper education. (Many have not been able to attend school because they don’t even have the bus fare to get to school.) The Evangelical Cultural Center needs more full-time workers to serve these refugee child disciples and coworkers. Our goal is to equip them to be disciples of Christ and also to be prepared ourselves to go with them when they return home, because we want to bring revival to ‘Levant—Olive City’ when the war is over and there is peace. When the time comes for our ‘little child disciples’ to return home, they will need great courage—they will need life skills, a better foundation in the Faith, and more strength—in order to be able to face their broken communities, their many helpless neighbors, and their unbelieving family members and friends. This is a golden opportunity to shine our light for the Lord! But if we don’t prepare and equip today, there won’t be a harvest after the war is over. Please adopt one child, please pray, please support. Let us all go together and rebuild the collapsed city walls and the fallen Temple of our God!
