2020 10 Nexus Mission Prayer Letter
Dear Friends of Nexus,
The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that He may send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
Ava is the administrator of the House of Hope in Olive City. She told us, “Thank you so much for supporting me and praying for me. Life here is very difficult now, and there isn’t even enough bread. To buy bread you have to wait in a very long line; and even if you wait in line all day, sometimes you can’t buy any. If it weren’t for your support, I wouldn’t be able to continue what I’m doing here. Thank you so much for being part of my family — because of you, I don’t feel alone on this road of ministry.”
Dear Brothers and Sisters, when you pray, please remember those who are working for the Lord in different countries!

- On October 14 we received notification from Pastor Chadi that he has contracted COVID-19. Please pray fervently for him and his family and also the brothers and sisters he has been in close contact with.

- Pray for the home situations here: Many husbands hit or beat their wives. In many cases of divorce, the children are given to the husband, and our kindergarten has some children from such homes. Please pray for the safety and healthy growth of children who don’t have people taking care of them properly.

Southeast Asia – Coconut City

Thai Sister Chaw Chaw and Hong Kong Sister Winnie
Personal & Family
- Continue to pray for Winnie’s health, especially that she will have strength to walk without too much difficulty.
- Pray for Chaw Chaw’s second daughter-in-law, for her to have enough faith.
Ministry
- Pray for their children from Lychee City. The pandemic there is severe, so in order to reduce their consumption of food they eat congee every day.
- Because the pandemic is severe in Lychee City, many jobless people are desperately trying to sneak across the border into Coconut City to find work. Chaw Chaw’s team has heard that due to fear of the virus, the Coconut City army has been given orders to shoot anyone trying to sneak across the border. Pray for the people living near the border, as they are the ones most affected.
Southeast Asia – Banana City & Lychee City

Brother Tai and Xiao Ling
Personal & Family
- Pray for Brother Tai’s three children, especially for them to have wisdom to teach their eldest, who is 11 years old and getting rebellious. And pray their children can grow up healthy in body, mind, and spirit.
- Pray for their church. Some Christians from outside their area whom they hosted for a few years have left recently and gone to start another church, taking some of the people with them. Brother Tai’s heart is not at peace about it. May God keep His church safe and help the church to grow spiritually as well as in numbers.
Banana City Ministry
- Despite the fact that recently Bro Tai hasn’t been able to go to Banana City, before the border was closed he had already delivered some goods there including materials for rebuilding/remodeling, so the brothers and sisters can do the remodeling by themselves.
- Those brothers and sisters in the mountains now have almost no contact with the outside world. Phone calls don’t get through, so pray for them, for God’s grace and provision for them.
Lychee City Ministry
- Because so many Lychee City residents were sneaking across the China border to get medical treatment for COVID-19, Chinese troops guarding the border have strengthened their patrols to stop people from coming in. So Brother Tai cannot go to deliver food and needed items to the refugee camps living in the mountains across the border. Please pray the Lord will take care of those refugees living in the mountains and help them get through the pandemic safely.
Brother Yuen
Ministry
- Due to the pandemic, Brother Yuen is unable to go to the field where he normally works, and he is working on a pig farm now and using it as a ministry platform. Pray he can soon return to Banana City to his ministry there.
Sincerely, Nexus Mission
