Levant “Spread love to thousands of families!”

The situation in the Levant is worrying. Tree City and Olive City, as the Nexus Center and House of Hope in this land, are facing perilous challenges, however they still stick to their posts and uphold the belief of “Spreading love to thousands of families!”

Nexus workers bravely visited the few remaining people in southern Lebanon. These people told us: “There are bombs every day and night, and if you live here for one night, you will go crazy. But we were born and live here and will not leave.” However, will the standoff between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah lead to the outbreak of another all-out war? The UN chief has warned that an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah would be a “catastrophe”.

The ongoing civil war in Olive City that began in 2011 has caused tremendous suffering, displacement and casualties. Many children have missed years of education due to the war, and psychological trauma has become a reality for them. The war has left deep emotional scars on the people of Olive City, affecting their mental health and well-being.

Olive City “House of Hope”: When I see a child begging on the street, “I’m hungry!” How should I respond?

House of Hope has launched a new ministry inspired by Matthew 25:35-40: “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;…” Moved by the plight of children who forage for food on the streets, we decided to cook for them every Friday at our centre. We believe even small acts of kindness can make a profound difference. However, we understand that our efforts alone are not enough and humbly ask for your prayers – for these children to have daily food, for a future full of hope and opportunity, and for us at House of Hope. Teams become agents of love and change. May we witness miracles happen as we accompany them towards a brighter tomorrow.

Tree City – Nexus Center

On the last day of the school semester, June 13th, we had a small party to celebrate the end of exams. We gave the students some cookies and wished them a happy summer vacation. Over the next two weeks of the summer we will be marking exams and getting ready for the summer. After the summer vacation, we will hold a parent-teacher meeting to provide parents with their children’s results and conduct summer registration. Although most students will continue to study during the summer vacation, some children must reluctantly leave school for two weeks.
