Dear Friends of the Nexus, Prayer Warriors:

The Iran-Iraq War – On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched a massive air campaign against Iran, which retaliated in full force, officially beginning the war. (As of March 25, 2026,) at least 1,500 Iranians have died and over 20,000 have been injured.

The Lebanon War – Hezbollah launched an attack on Israel on March 2. The Israeli military bombed southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley (where Nexus Center is situated), and the southern suburbs of Beirut almost daily, and launched ground operations on March 16. Over one million people have fled their homes (one-fifth of the country’s population). More than a thousand people have died, and millions have been affected.

The wars between Iran and Lebanon have displaced countless families, with the vulnerable struggling to survive in fear, hunger, and deprivation. In the midst of turmoil, we hold fast to Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and our strength.”

We cannot change the war, but we choose to shine for the Lord in the midst of it—walking alongside victims through prayer, companionship, and practical action.

From the front lines in Iran:

May His Light shine into the long night! And may a prayer altar be erected for three families who remain in Iran, one brother, and their local believers and neighbors! We only know indirectly that they are temporarily safe. Please pray for them: May angels always watch over them, may they have peace in their comings and goings, and may the Lord provide for all their daily needs!

Lebanon Front:

A Shelter Amidst War. With almost all schools closed due to the fighting, Nexus Center remains open daily, welcoming children who walk miles or are carried by their parents. More than 120 children and teenagers come here each week to receive trauma play therapy, hot meals, a safe place to be listened to, companionship, prayer, and spiritual support.

One mother said, “My child always comes home smiling. You’re not teaching him, you’re saving him.”

The children’s drawings reveal their fears and desires:

• A 9-year-old boy draws a house without a roof so that bombs “won’t damage the walls.”

• A 7-year-old girl draws a bird with a broken wing: “It wants to fly away, but it can’t.”

Even as war gets closer, laughter, paintbrushes, and heart-restoring peace abide within the walls of Nexus Center.

We declare: “You have not been abandoned; you are deeply loved.”

A Review of the First Three Years and the Last Three Years of Nexus Mission

From Bangladesh to Various Countries: In the early days, Nexus had limited resources and little experience, but God Himself opened the way, enabling us to send eighteen Chinese missionaries to five cross-cultural fields, including Pakistan, the Philippines, the Middle East, Egypt, and Bangladesh.

Alex and Ruth were sent to Bangladesh in 2011.

At the time, they were only 24 years old and had only a junior high school education, but they responded to God’s call. For a period of nearly three years, the government canceled many volunteer visas, forcing many missionary groups to leave; but Alex and Ruth determined to find a way to stay. Through them, God has built:

New Hope Home: providing 24-hour care for seventeen orphans and disadvantaged children

New Hope School: educating 90 children, shining brightly in the Muslim community.

The story of Nexus and these missionaries is a shared testimony of your eighteen years of prayer and dedication. Your prayers and offerings have made these fruits visible.

This is the call of Nexus; this is yours and our shared mission in Christ. The Lord has called us, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). From Iran to Lebanon, even amid war and devastation, your love has not departed.
