From Tribal People in Bangladesh To The Middle East

Dear Friends of Nexus,

Peace be with you! This is Alex. Thank you for your continued care and support for the New Hope Home ministry in Bangladesh. Thanks to your prayers and support, seventeen boys from tribal areas are currently receiving life care and education here, growing spiritually.

Recently, co-worker Soiaram and his wives shared that more and more tribal families are taking initiative to seek assistance, hoping their children can come to New Hope House. When parents see the changes in their children’s academic performance, character, and faith, their hope for the future is rekindled!

Many tribal children in Bangladesh have extremely limited options because of poverty – especially the lack of educational resources. Some are sent to free Islamic schools (Madrashas). Therefore we are even more convinced that Christ-centered education and discipleship training can transform a child’s life and impact the entire family.

Thank God, the children have all achieved excellent academic results this year, and our staff have witnessed them grow from initially being timid and anxious to being happy, confident, responsible children.

Thank you, Friends of Nexus, for your companionship over the years. Your investment is not just in the present lives of seventeen children but in the future – the next generation.

Lebanon – A Joyful Harvest at Nexus Center

Nexus Center’s summer program officially began in July, filling the Center with the laughter of children. The staff firmly believe that God is working in every lesson, every interaction, and every smile.

One thing we are most grateful for is that Hussein, a Kurdish youth who had not come to church for some time, came back and expressed his desire to rejoin our church family. We’re reminded that our sowing of Gospel seeds in not in vain! …and that God keeps working in people’s lives.

In recent years, the youth ministry has continued to grow, with more and more young people participating in Bible study, worship, and discipleship training. The greatest joy for our staff is seeing them gradually build a strong faith and become an important force for the future of the church.

Although we couldn’t schedule any visits to the swimming pool this year, coworkers used their limited resources to design simple water activities. The children’s bright smiles showed everyone that love can often be conveyed in the most ordinary ways.

Syria – The House of Hope Amidst War:

Small Pocket Money, Big Hearts – Children buy cakes as a birthday blessing for their teacher.

We had a touching incident recently. When the children learned it was their teacher’s birthday, they decided to pool their allowances and buy a cake. This simple act of love deeply moved our coworkers. It showed us God is shaping the children’s characters into ones of gratitude and care.

Currently, one of our teachers is undergoing cancer treatment and another’s family is facing financial difficulties.

Please also pray for Salma, a university student who has been bullied by classmates due to her weight. The church continues to support her and encourage her to find her true value and identity in Christ.

And pray for Samson and Leah’s family. Ask God to grant them wisdom and strength to nurture more disciples and leaders. Also pray He continues to grant peace and stability in Syria.

The road to reconstruction in Syria remains challenging, but Hope House is striving to be a beacon of light in the darkness.

Pakistan – Sow Faithfully, and the Lord Will Bring Growth

The Gospel Reaching Rural Areas – Church Reconstruction Completed – Theological Students Graduate and Enter Ministry

In Pakistan, Shalian and Jacob overcame challenges of transportation and rising costs to continue their evangelistic efforts in remote Hindu villages. This month’s meetings saw over 110 villagers participate. Thanks be to the Lord, a brother baptized in 2020 graduated from the Baptist Bible College and will begin ministry; the church is also planning new training to equip its leaders.

Also, Brother Johnson is grateful for his daughter Marilyn’s successful entry into university and prays for the Lord’s guidance in her growth. Masih, a co-worker in the brick kiln ministry, has been hospitalized due to a stroke. Please pray for him!

Special thanks to Nexus’ Friends for your generous support: A donation of US $5,000 received through Nexus has helped to rebuild the local church and to provide a safe meeting place; another donation supports the Bible school in training pastors.
