Brother Tai & Sister Ling

Personal & Family

• I (Brother Tai) recently visited Lychee City and Banana City, and local authorities reported my whereabouts to the ones back home (where I live). I know that they will look me up and question me. May God keep me and give me wisdom and confidence.
• They also went to my eldest and second child’s school and talked to the school administrators to pressure my kids to stop believing the Good News. I transferred them to another school. May God protect them from persecution there, help them to trust Him and be strong and confident, and help them adapt quickly in their new school.
• While out doing visitation my mother has been under attack. She had sudden bouts of pain from kidney stones and has had to be hospitalized twice. May God heal her, fight this battle for her, and give her strength.

Ministry

• Lyhcee City: War continues and there are daily casualties. May God have mercy on the land and put an end to the war! May He strengthen the faith of the brothers and sisters, comfort them, and help them to rely on and look to Him.
• Lychee City: The war has resulted in an increasing number of orphans. The orphanage on the mountain is in urgent need of food, and they often have to satisfy their hunger by gathering wild plants. Supplies cannot be delivered in from outside. Pray God provides funds for them to buy food and daily necessities locally.
• Banana City: This time I visited many brothers and sisters in the mountains as well as other places to encourage and strengthen them and bring them medicine, toys, and food.
• Banana City: Many brothers and sisters have strayed away from God due to persecution. Pray God will have mercy on them, draw them home, move, encourage, and strengthen them.
• Banana City: Many others have embraced the Good News since the pandemic. Pray for four families who have just received the Good News. Pray God strengthen their faith, make their hearts good ground, and keep them from persecution.

• I (Zane) have knee pain, and the doctor has recommended surgery. Pray God will have mercy on me and give me faith and strength.
• Pray God heals my wife Nancy, who also has knee pain and a weak immune system.

Ministry: YouFu Center

• We plan to baptize several brothers and sisters in October. Pray God shows us the right time and prepares their hearts.
• Pray for the brothers and sisters in the uremia patient’s fellowship: May God heal them, give them immunity, strengthen their faith, and provide for their daily needs.
• Pray that God provides teachers and co-workers who love children for the YouFu Center.

• Pray that the Lord will protect our two daughters in school and grant them more wisdom in each of their subjects.

• Pray for our co-workers who serve the women’s and children’s small groups in the slums. Ask God to give them obedient hearts, that they can bless more people to receive the Good News.
• Pray for three co-workers who serve in village small groups and primary school students’ tutoring class, that more people will come to know our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Thank God! In early September we found a chef for our Chinese restaurant. May God grant us grace and not let us lack anything! Please keep praying that things go smoothly for us as we comply with all the requirements for running the restaurant.

(INTRODUCTION) We have two children (a 9-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son) and have been in Water City for 12 years. Previously we mainly did full-time work serving locals: teaching slum children, conducting discipleship training, and networking with local churches. Since the epidemic our work has changed somewhat, and currently while running the ministry we have also started a workplace service — a denture processing business.

• Pray for my (Alex’s) mother. She recently suffered a sudden stroke but now has been discharged from the hospital. Thankfully, her condition was discovered and handled timely so that her overall condition is very good except that she doesn’t walk very well yet. Pray God heals her.
• Pray for our family’s health and safety.
• Pray that our emotional response in all circumstances will remain positive and joyful.

• Pray for our education center in the slum, that the children who attend will come to know our Heavenly Father.
• Pray that our local co-workers can work together as one.
• Pray for our denture factory. Currently there are more than a dozen young people studying with us. May God give them wisdom to master this skill and at the same time bring them to know God through our daily devotional time together.
