• Pray for their younger son and their co-worker Usman, that God will provide companions to travel the “Heavenly Road.”
• Pray for our whole family, for increasing strength to walk in the way of the Great Commission.

Ministry

• Pray that the five university students coming from Q City to L City this month arrive safely, that their studies in L City are blessed with divine wisdom, and that they receive new life.
• Pray God opens a good way for us to begin ministering in the Middle East.
• Pray a co-worker coming from our home country will be able to get a visa and other formalities completed without major problems.
• Pray for the current flood situation here and for our son Glen and daughter-in-law Maya as they go to Q City disaster areas, that their disaster relief work goes smoothly and safely – may God protect them and guide their footsteps!

• Pray for our whole family to have good relationships with God and that we can have a stable family devotional time. May the Lord give us more strength to run speedily as we follow Him.
• Pray for our health and safety; and that we experience His Word, His faithfulness, and His provision this year.
• Pray for Lucy’s father’s health, and that he becomes more hungry for God. May the Lord protect him, care for him, have mercy on him, and heal him!
• Pray for the heart of our landlord, that the amount and contract terms will be reasonable.

Ministry

• Pray the Lord gives us wisdom to manage the coffee shop, that we have good communication with the workers, and that all the needs of the coffee shop will be supplied.
• Pray the workers’ health will be protected – that they will be covered by the precious blood of Jesus; and for our training of a new manager and a new barista.
• May the Lord raise up a new generation of leaders for us.
• Pray for our continuing visitations in the community, our weekly women’s small group meetings; and pray the Lord provides for the needs of our local coworkers’ families.

Norman and Linda

When we were in our early twenties at a 2003 missions conference in Beijing, we decided together to attend training for mission work among Muslims. We soon went to Water City, but in 2019 we returned to China due to the pandemic.

Personal & Family

• May the Lord protect our health and keep us from getting infected with the virus.
• May God provide for our daily needs.

Ministry

• Pray our return to Water City the middle of this month will be without major problems, as the pandemic is causing a lot of inconvenience for travelers.
• Pray for us to know and to take the right way after we return to the field. We’re going to try to develop a business missions ministry — may the Lord bless us and guide us!

• Pray for our daughter’s progress in Chinese, and for what needs to be prepared for our small son as he begins to study Chinese.
• May the Lord bless us with wisdom and understanding as we study the local language, praise and worship, and the Bible. May He give us deeper understanding of His Word!
• May the Lord give us more strength and wisdom in the areas of ministry and personal relationships.

Ministry: Nexus Center

• Pray for our education department’s continuing teacher training (they are in the process of getting more training).
• Pray the Center’s teenagers draw closer to God and that they will be able to influence their families and friends.
• Pray that the carpentry, soap-making, women’s, and education department ministries will be in tune with God’s heart in their planning and working.
• Pray for Tree City, as the economy is continuing to worsen. Especially pray that in the winter months God blesses this land and provides the needs of the residents here.

• Right now Ava’s mother is facing spiritual warfare and depression; please pray the Lord delivers and protects her.
• Ava and some friends are going to take a trip to Egypt. Pray God gives them a wonderful time and keeps them safe throughout their trip.

Ministry: The House of Hope

• The new semester begins in September. May God bless all the students as they study!
• Pray for all the teachers to receive power, love, and wisdom as they minister to all the students.
• We are planning to start a men’s meeting and a Bible study class. Pray we can find a suitable person to come lead these.

Southeast Asia – Banana City and Lychee City

• Our whole family has returned from our hometown to the county town where we serve, and our kids are going back to school. May God give them intelligence and wisdom!
• I often go to the countryside for ministry, where my cell phone often can’t get any signal. May the Lord protect my coming and going and help my phone connection to be stable.
• Regarding the ‘talks’ that the relevant department people have had with me, now the situation is more serious. Please pray the Lord keeps me safe, gives me wisdom, that I can continue to trust in Him — to be strong and victorious.

Ministry

• Every August many of the more elderly brothers and sisters fall ill. May God give them good health as well as spiritual understanding!
• Lychee City: War has already broken out (again) on a small scale, but it’s not in the mountain areas yet, so for the time being the orphanage is safe. But shipping goods now to the mountain areas is very hard. May the Lord have mercy, protect the people and the orphanage in Lychee City, and provide what they need.
• Banana City: May the Lord protect the brothers and sisters in the mountain areas during this rainy season, keep them healthy, provide their daily living needs, and help them not to get discouraged but to be strong in faith.

Southeast Asia – Coconut City

• On August 25th Winnie’s brother had another operation to put back a piece of his skull. Thankfully, the operation was successful, but he still has more chemo treatment ahead. May the Lord care for him during his coming treatment.
• This year Winnie had a complete physical examination. Her blood lipids, blood pressure, and uric acid were all a bit high, and the doctor recommended she take medicine. She also has slight cardiac hypertrophy (enlargement of the cardiac muscle) and a fatty liver — may the Lord heal her!
• The pandemic situation in Coconut City is still serious; may the Lord protect our health!

Ministry

• May the Lord prepare the resources to buy land. We also need to build a loft or attic onto Grace Center for storage space.
• In mid-August, a dam in Lychee City in the border area between Lychee City and Coconut City burst due to rain from thunderstorms. This caused a bad flood: please pray for the needs of the flood victims!

• May the Lord give the two of us wisdom, unity, and courageous hearts.
• Thank God, Nancy’s elder sister has come to help with the kindergarten so we have more time for other ministry.

Ministry

• May the Lord keep local brothers and sisters safe and give everyone wisdom, as certain departments are questioning people.
• Pray for the basic study course for the uremia patients’ group, that they can understand God’s word; and pray for two of them who are not yet believers, that they can be saved.
• A cult group has appeared in our local county town and many brothers and sisters have been deceived. May the Lord cover them, protect them, and give them vigilant, discerning hearts.
• A co-worker will go back to her hometown, ask God to give her wisdom to preach the good news.

Africa – Mineral City

• Sandy’s paternal grandmother is sick. Sandy’s mother is taking care of her. Pray that her grandmother gets well soon.

Ministry

• We have bought a house to use as a church building, and we are going to be busy remodeling it. Pray we will be able to move into it without any problems before Christmas.
• We are about to start an English service because every Sunday there are local people coming to church. Pray for God’s leading and blessing, for us to be able to win souls as we minister to locals as well as to Chinese.
