Let Warmth Dispel Numbness, Ignite the Light of Christmas, and Break Through Indifference!

Whenever I see photos of Nexus Mission’s service in various countries, I am deeply moved. There are so many people suffering in this world! We may feel powerless — even numb — until we stop for a moment, notice what is being done to relieve some of the suffering, and listen to what God is saying. That reflection can shatter our indifference, give us courage, bring us to action, and make life beat again so the Light of Hope shines in the darkness!

Core Objectives:

Gospel Sharing and Faith Follow-up: Helping people come to know Christ through Christmas gatherings, evangelism, and youth fellowship.

Practical Care: Providing food packages, clothing, shoes, blankets, and hosting Christmas dinners.

Building Hope and Dignity: Providing special care for orphans, brick kiln child laborers, internally displaced persons, and refugees.

Spiritual effects:

Four people in Pakistan have made a decision to believe in the Lord and have been baptized. May the Lord strengthen their faith!

This Christmas, Nexus Mission will be hosting celebrations and outreach activities across Asia and the Middle East with the goal of spreading the Gospel, building faith, and providing tangible assistance to vulnerable groups. Projects will be conducted in Bangladesh, Thailand, Myanmar, Loas, Iran, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Syria, serving students, orphans, impoverished families, refugees, new believers, and seekers

Bangladesh – Children who spend their day, every day, by the train tracks.

2007 was the first year that Johnny visited Chinese missionaries in Bangladesh. From that time on, Nexus Mission has been devoted to supporting Chinese overseas missions, serving needy people in partnership with local churches and mission organizations, bringing love and hope to local communities.

Northern Thailand — Grace Center’s children are growing up together.

Ever since its independence in 1948, Myanmar’s ethnic armed conflict has continued uninterrupted. But after the 2021 military coup, civil war broke out with new intensity and the tide of war refugees rose rapidly, with Thailand taking in more war refugees from Myanmar than any other country. To respond to the need, Nexus Mission established Grace Center, accepting orphans and children of single-parent families that couldn’t make ends meet, providing them with care and hope.

Preschool children in mountain refugee camps in Myanmar, growing up from a young age in a Christian environment.

Laos — Children grow up in difficult, under-nourished condition; yet they remain steadfast in their love for the Lord. Let us join hands to nurture their growth!

Iran – a moment of pause and reflection– a stirring from the Holy Spirit — shatters indifference, inspires courage and action; and life begins to pulsate again.

In our ministry in Pakistan, we support child brick-kiln laborers, lonely widows, impoverished families, illiterate children, and Afghani refugees.

At Nexus’ school, many fathers personally pick up and drop off their children, fostering improved parent-child relationships not common in Arab culture.

We are grateful that the work in Levant — in both Lebanon and Syria (in Lebanon, Nexus’ school, Antioch Church, and work in refugee camps; in Syria, the House of Hope school, church, and ministry to internally displaced persons, homeless, and seekers) — has yielded fruitful results. However, in both locations, continued effort and deep-rooted commitment are still needed to produce new fruit.

Syria: Recent political turmoil in Syria has led to large numbers of internally displaced persons taking to the streets, struggling there to make a living.

I’m grateful for the dedication of my Nexus coworkers, and even more grateful that God has not forgotten the babies hungry for nourishment — thank you for your tireless efforts! We pray that we will not be consumed by apathy. This Christmas, I invite you to join us in shattering apathy and spreading warmth.  May you go beyond what you normally do … do what you rarely do! …do something that combats indifference and numbness, something that sends love and hope to the places or concerns that the Lord Jesus is calling you to.
