Northern Thailand – Grace Center — Chaw Chaw

Chaw Chaw Worship with the children every day

Family:

• Pray the Lord guides Chaw Chaw’s grandson to find a school pleasing to God as he starts secondary school next year.

• May the Lord protect and care for Chaw Chaw ‘s needs; may she and her children experience the Lord’s truth, goodness, and beauty together.

Chaw Chaw ‘s elder brother is building a training center in northern Thailand to equip brothers and sisters from Myanmar who come to northern Thailand. It’s still in the preparatory stages of construction. Pray the Lord provides funds and co-workers.

Ministry:

• Continue to pray for equipment and all that is needed for Grace Center’s relocation to the church facility. Ask the Lord to bless the church. Pray that more people to come to faith in Jesus Christ during Christmas outreach.

• May the Lord provide staff for Grace Center. Chaw Chaw is nearing retirement age but has not yet found a successor. May God call willing brothers and sisters to serve together so that the Center continues to help children in need!

• May the Lord grant Chaw Chaw the wisdom to lead the Center’s children so they take root in God’s Word and bring the love of Jesus to their classmates, teachers, and others throughout their lives.

Alex & Ruth

Family:

• Pray for our family’s health, safety, and relationship with our Heavenly Father.

• May our Heavenly Father also protect our parents back home and keep them healthy.

Ministry:

• Pray for our ministry. During the Christmas season we have different gospel activities. Please, Heavenly Father, protect and watch over us!

• A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Bangladesh last month, plunging the entire country into panic; and now there are sporadic aftershocks of varying magnitude. May God have mercy on this country and grant peace to this land.

• The children we serve have exams next month and are on winter break. Pray our Heavenly Father protects them and helps them achieve good results.

• The country is approaching a general election and is in a state of instability. Pray the Lord raises up a government after His own heart to govern this country.

Lewis & Lucy

Family:

• Pray for Levi’s scholarship application at the school to be successful.

• May our children be blessed at school! Pray that they learn to love their neighbor and God! And may their teachers and classmates also love them.

• Pray God leads us in our commitment and service in the local church.

Ministry:

• May God bless our six coworkers and draw them to become His precious children and healthy parents!

• Ask God to bless the women and children’s ministry in the slums. May God use their shared testimonies to draw more people to Him, and may they come to know Him and be willing to be baptized into Christ!

• May God bless the three teaching sites and teachers led by Pastor John in the countryside, and may He bring more families to Himself through the teaching.

Glen and Maya:

Family:

• Pray for our eldest daughter Tina’s studies. She has made great progress in all her English subjects; but Urdu, the official language, is her weakest area. We lead her in praying daily to commit her studies to God. By His grace, she is enthusiastic about learning and has made significant progress.

• Pray for our second daughter, Tiya, who starts school next year. May the Lord help her in school to be able to complete her assignments by herself.

• Pray for us as a couple, that we may develop habits of doing more, talking less, and giving glory to the Lord. Pray we will not be “spiritually ambitious” to do “great works” for the Lord and not take credit for things that are for His glory.

• Pray about Lahore’s air pollution. Recently it has made my whole family sick, including me. Thankfully, my wife and two daughters are recovering, and I am also getting better.

Ministry:

• Pray for the family of local Brother Khan. They’ve just had their third baby and are facing financial and living pressures. Ask the Lord to open a way for them so they don’t lose heart or be discouraged in their ministry.

• Pray for the safety situation in Pakistan. In recent years we’ve received threats from terrorists and orders from the police not to leave our homes or travel to other cities. We always have to report our travel plans to the police a day in advance, causing inconvenience to our ministry. May the Lord grant us peace and protect us as we come and go.

Iran

How many Iranians truly understand the meaning of Christmas?

Giles & Joan

Family:

• Pray our youngest son can continue doing ministry work while at school and share the gospel with his classmates, so that my wife and I can also serve university students here with even greater fervor.

• May the Lord protect us and provide our family’s needs. May He help us share the Good News with unbelieving friends at Christmas and give us the opportunity to build better relationships.

Ministry:

• Pray the Lord gives my husband and me strength and wisdom to minister to the family of a local man called Ade, a new believer. Pray this family may obtain the faith, hope, and love that comes from God’s Word.

• Let us, in the presence of Jews and local Muslims, love Him even more fervently; and as we work together with three other families, may God give us wisdom to develop the ministry.
